Sweet give away from Sweet Vintage.

OK, lets start with these goodies. Sweet Vintage are having a give away. Just look at all these gorgeous embellies. Pop over and check it out http://creativityandlove.blogspot.com/
You gonna love Jodies creations and her blog.

Well as for me Ive been itching to scrap something but I haven't had a chance. So, so busy ATM.
Emilys canvas was a hit, so that's great. I'm thinking about making some more and maybe having a go at selling them, as suggested by a couple of friends.
I'm going to have a go at some gel transfers too. That way I can incorporate some of my photography into my art. Cant wait to give that a go. But not sure when that will be, as I said before really busy.
We have family visiting from Adelaide and France ATM. They go home on the weekend and then My Gorgeous Mum and Sister and my adorable niece and 2 nephews arrive for about 5 days. Cant wait to see them.
Next Wednesday is Jedds first birthday and next Saturday is his party.
So you see how scrapbooking has been put on hold for a little while and just when I have so many yummy new products to play with.
No time for scrapping but I still found time to shop. He he he.
I have some thing else exciting to tell you about (in the scrapping department) but I think Ill keep that under my hat a bit longer. So stay tuned. I might have something to share early October.
Hope you are all well and finding time to do what you love. TFL.

The finished canvas.

Hello everyone. Well here's that canvas Ive been banging on about, finally finished all ready for my lovely sister-in-laws 18th birthday this week end.Its not the best of photos I'm afraid. The pinks are much darker IRL.I have painted the back grround in acrylics and then added the rub ons. I think the chandeliers are by Hambly designs and the dragon flies are Kaiser Crafts. The quotes are by Rosies studios. The paints I have used are Kaiser colour in 'Sea breeze' and a little Kaiser colour 'Hot pink' blended in as well (although its hard to see.)I have painted the sides and the border on the front with a black base coat. The same black paint was also used to blend with the sea breeze colour around the outside on the front of the canvas. The pink orchids are silk flowers that I bought from a discount store and cut off the stem to adhere to the canvas. The aqua flowers are Belle Fleur by Prima. The bling is by Kaiser crafts and so are the black beaded stick on chain that Ive used to make it look like the chandeliers are suspended by. The butterflies are by Clear Cuts Craft. The alphas are American crafts, They were white and I have painted them in the hot pink paint rubbed some dusty rose kindy glitz over and then brushed a little bit of black ink over the top. I have also given the canvas a seal with a spray on acid free sealer in a gloss finish. Ive attached the photo in a way that it can be removed and replaced in the future if need be.
When I get a chance to take a photo, Ill show you what I made last Thursday. Hope you are all having a great week. TFL

Take Care Of Me Thursday!

Here's a couple of things I made my beautiful sister for her birthday. She loves green and when I saw these Pandora beads (Ive used on the earrings) I just new they were the exact colour green that my Sis likes.
The Gypsy style bracelet is made from all glass or metal beads and has a really nice weight to it and makes the prettiest sound when worn, thanks to those little silver coins.
I haven't had much time for beading lately, scrapbooking has become my first (craft) love.
I only ever seem to make things for other people. One day I might actually get around to making something for myself. Maybe today. Why not?. Just got to get on top of that house work first. LOL.
I hope you all get a little time today to do something special for your self. I know we all deserve it! We spend so much time looking after those special people in our live that some times we forget about us. HOW RUDE! lol.
Well I think we need to remedy this by making Thursdays. 'Take care of me day'. I'm going to try to do something special for me every Thursday. Maybe it will be some thing little like painting my toe nails or having a really long bath, a Nana nap, making something just for me or buying something special.
Some times I think we need a little reminding to take care of us. So every Thursday I will post about what I did for me. Hopefully that will give me the push to make time for me too.
What have you done for your self lately..... hmmmm food for thought? I challenge you to join my little quest! Let me know or post on your blog what you did for you. Doesn't have to be Thursdays. Pick a day that suits you best. But make it one day a week. You deserve it!
Bye for now and don't forget, take care of you! That's an order. LOL. TFL.

Just mucking around with Picnik.

Hey there lovely people. Ive been messing around with Picnik today.http://www.picnik.com/app#/home/welcome I don't have the full version I've just been using the free stuff.
Just testing it out to see what it can do. Here's some examples. Not a bad little program really. You can do some interesting things for free.
There are some really cool new applications too if you purchase the premium version.
Now you can change the colour of your eyes, make yourself thinner give your self a tan and iron out those wrinkles......... Hmmm, I think I could use a little of all of those. LOL.
Super easy program to use. So if your not confident with Photo shop maybe Picnik is for you.`
I am on a scrapbook diet for the next week or so. Still trying to get that canvas finished for an up coming birthday and as usual Ive left it til the last minute. And don't you know it, those perfect embellishments Ive hunted high and low for and couldn't find.........well I found them only I'm cutting it a bit close to get them delivered in time. DOH!
Oh well we will just have to see what I can come up with. Hope it works out OK.
Ill post a pic when its done.
OK I should go. Hope your all having a good 'hump day'. Oh and before you go would you mind feeding my new hampster, Thanks. LOL. TFL.

Dream Big

Another LO to share. This one was done for the Out Of The Hat scrap challenge http://outofthehatscrapchallenge.blogspot.com/2009/09/more-fabulous-entries.html. The criteria was to use some sort of distressing, black/white and one other colour and to use different lettering in your title.
I had trouble finding enough blue papers to complete this one. I stopped buying 'blue stuff' because having two boys, its too easy to use blue in all your LOs and they were nearly all blue and so I thought I should inject more colour in my albums. I love this pp though. Its by Dream Street I think. I do find it hard to resist blue and I'm loving colour ATM.
I now have a followers section on my little blog and I already have one follower. YAHOO! (Thanks Kim).
So If you'd like to follow my blog don't be shy Id love it if you did and thanks to everyone who leaves me comments. I love to receive them. You guys are the best.
Well Paul is up from his Fathers Day sleep in so Id best go make him a coffee and make some plans for our family day together. Hope you all have a special Fathers Day and a fabulous week end too. TFL

Our Little Star

This LO is a quite a simple one. I dont usually do simple. I feel like I have to keep adding things because it never seems finished.
Saying that I do love simple LOs and really admire scrappers that can do them well. I just have trouble doing them myself.
I have however kept this fairly simple because the colours and papers are quite striking.
I was watching a video on the Internet the other week about developing your style. It got me thinking. What is my style, do I have one. After having a look back at my LOs, this is what I discovered.
*I usually like to use at least 3 different patterned papers and a plain card stock back ground.
*I also like to use chip board alphas or Thickers (loving those ATM) for my titles and I especially like black in my title.
*I like to try to pick a colour in my pp that matches a colour in my photo, unless its B&W.
*For some reason I think that a B&W photo needs a black title.
*I like to see some dimension on my pages but Id love to try to get more.
*But you may have noticed the Kindy Glitz again. I just cant seem to do a LO with out that stuff lately.
I need to lock it away some where so I cant get to it! LOL.
*I also like my LOs to be slightly off centered. Whether its the photo slightly to the left or closer to the bottom or maybe on a slight angle. I don't like things slap bang in the middle of my page.
Sorry if this post bored you to tears. LOL.
I personally found it kind of interesting to have a good think about. And I never really thought I had a style but now I'm starting to think maybe I do. Even though I feel like Im still a learner and have a loooooong way to go.
Any way, just some food for thought. Have a go yourself if your not sure about your style. You might be surprised. TFL.

Beautiful Beautiful Boy.

Time for another LO. I tried to kill two challenges with one stone with this one.
Sketch challenge 4 in Scrap Your Heart Out on 'The Boxx' and the August lyrics challenge on Song Bird Scraps (the song was Beautiful Boy by John Lennon).
I had sooo much trouble getting a reasonable photograph of this one that I almost gave up.
Any way here it is.
I have another one almost finished just waiting to put a title on it.
That's about it really, nothing new and exciting to report.
UP DATE..................... I won my challenge on The Boxx. YAY! TFL.
