More pics

OK, sorry for the over load on photos of Jedd, but I had to share these ones.
There is some thing completely irresistible about a baby in overalls.
I'm afraid I haven't got any to post of Tyson because he wont stand still long enough to get a decent one these days. LOL.
Hope every ones having a fantastic week. TFL.

Butterfly canvas

Ive finished my canvas, finally. So not what I had in mind, but I had a bit trouble with it .
The original was a green painted background which worked quite well ,only the colours were a bit dark for such a small canvas.
I decided to scrap over the top because I got a bit carried away with the Kindy Glitz..... Whooops. LOL. I think I was doing quite well up until then.
Anyway its just a practice run and I'm relieved to have it done now.
I think Ive learned a lot from the process and I'm ready to tackle the next one.
The butterflies are from Clear Cut Crafts http://clearcutcrafts.com/shop/ The colours Ive used are lime green and turquoise. Sorry the photo doesn't really do them justice. They are actually a lot more vivid IRL.
and the ivory rose is another stunning creation by Jodie from Sweet Vintage http://www.sweetvintage78.etsy.com/ and Ive just lightly brushed the edges of the petals with some green paint.
Id better sign off now. Time to cook dinner for my hungry boys. TFL.

Sand pit fun!

I couldn't resist sharing these photos of my adorable baby boy having fun in the sand pit.
We have been having such glorious weather in Brissy lately and last weekend was no exception.
The boys had a blast in the sand pit. Tys thought it was funny to dump sand over Jedd and then add some water into the mix to make a 'Jedd sand pie'.
As you can see Jedd didn't mind a bit and there was heaps of cheeky laughing and squeals of delight from both boys, not to mention some chuckles from Mum and Dad too.
Cant believe my little baby is going to be one in about a month.
It makes me kinda sentimental because I know hes my last baby and they grow up so fast, I don't want to miss a moment.
OK enough blubbering from me. I'm off to take advantage of this perfect weather and hang out some washing (how exciting!)

Clear Cut Crafts

OK, I mentioned last post about the gorgeous butterflies I ordered from Clear Cut Crafts.
Clear Cut Crafts are a home based business from Melbourne and all their little creatures are hand cut.
The above photo is just a example of the over 150 different types they make.
These cute little critters are made from transparent plastic so they are fade proof and water resistant. That means you can even stick them up out side and their pretty little wings will flap in the breeze. Cute eh?
I was so impressed with their super speedy, friendly and helpful service and the butterflies I ordered are delightful.
Ill be ordering more for sure!
Stop by and check out this fantastic local Aussie business here...

You wont be disappointed.

BROTHERS

This is a LO I did for Melissas sketch challenge number 2 in 'Scrap Your Heart Out' on 'The Boxx'.
I kept pretty true to the sketch which is very unusual for me. It was a great sketch. Very 'Me'.
In case you hadn't noticed I'm into circles and use them a lot on my LOs.
The butterfly is from Clear Cuts Craft. Ill mention more about them soon.
I'm so happy with their products I think they deserve a post all of their own.
The Ivory Rose is one of the creations by the lovely and talented Jodie at Sweet Vintage.
I was lucky enough to win some of her gorgeous embellies (as mentioned in a earlier post)
so expect to see a lot more popping up from time to time on my LOs.
here's the link again to her Etsy store. http://www.sweetvintage78.etsy.com/
I have my eye on a couple more of her embellies. You should stop by and check them out for yourself.
Ive got some other things to share including a couple of cute pics of the boys, but that and more about Clear Cuts Crafts will have to wait til tomorrow.
So its over and out from me for now.
Sweet Dreams. UP DATE..............I won my challenge on The Boxx. YAY! TFL.

My Sunshine

I know, I know, I said that I would give scrapping a rest for a while BUT. I bought this rainbow paper on Friday by Sassafras and I was just sitting last night thinking "now what can I use that for" and it came to me.
I had this picture of Jedd and I thought they would be great together.
DH was asleep on the couch so he didn't even miss me. He woke up this morning and said "when did you do that?" LOL.
I'm loving bright, colourful LOs lately. Maybe that's because I'm soooo over winter.
This sun embellishment is actually a wall decal. They are really cute and cheap to buy from those discount shops. I got six in a pack for about $6.00. Good value.
On this LO you can see that Ive added some hand written journalling. Some thing I don't do a lot of but my trying to do more. I hate my hand writing so I'm trying to make peace with it. LOL.
I heard a fellow scrapper once say "your kids wont care how neat your hand writing is, just that I was written with love, by you."
On the canvas front. Its almost finished and although I think its clearly just a practice run, I think I'm not too proud to post it when its done.
I just need to order a few little embellies before I can complete it.

world at your feet

Here's my latest LO. This is Tys at the Botanic Gardens in Adelaide Feb 09. He just couldn't help himself when he saw all this open space. His stroll soon turned into a sprint as fast as his little legs could carry him.
DH was assigned the job of chasing him as I was holding Jedd and my third baby 'Nikon' LOL.
I have noticed these little pin wheels popping up on other LOs around the place and I thought Id have a go myself.
They are super easy to make. Here's a link to the pattern and instructions.
The ones I made are 2 inches square and the larger is 2 1/2 inches.
The journalling is a quote by Richard Hovey. It reads...........
'I am sick of four walls and a ceiling. I have need for the sky. I have business with the grass.
When I read it I thought it was just right for these photos.
I had three photos in this set to use but I don't do the multi photo LOs very often and I just couldn't make all 3 work. But I like multi photo LOs and I think Ill try more in the future.
I'm going to give the scrapbooking a rest for a little while now. The house work and the husband are looking seriously neglected. I think a divorce may be on the cards soon if I don't spend some quality time with DH. lol.
I need to get started on my Canvases as I have 2 planned for up coming birthdays and a little practice run one for myself first.
So stay tuned and I will upload them in the future. That is of course, only if they are not complete humiliating failures :(

2 of a kind.

OK this is what I came up with yesterday while I was having some happy scrappy time when DH was out with Tys.
I really didn't think I was going to get this one finished because I didn't have the right embellishment to use. I could think of 101 things Id like to purchase to use but with out a car I was forced to be resourceful.
I used different coloured papers in complimentary tones and some of the dress pattern paper that Jodies embellies came wrapped in. I layered them and made cuts towards the center to give it more depth and create the look of petals.
Then I brushed over it with some cream colored paint.
My Thickers that I have used for my title where just too shiny and I thought they needed some distressing so I took to them with paint too.
I'm really loving using paint on my LOs lately. I didn't realise how much Id miss my paints when I gave them all away, before we moved from Adelaide.
I had quite a collection that used to get a real work out in my 'Decoupage days'.
I'm sure there will be more painting to come on my LOs in the future so 'watch this space' TFL

You colour my world

This is a LO I completed last night. This photo was crying out for a colourful page and I couldn't wait to us one of the Sweet Vintage patchwork flowers, sent to me by Jodie.
You can see on my earlier post the link to her Etsy store.
This is a very cheeky picture of my eldest DS. He has been able to smile and raise just one eye brow like this since he was a little baby.
He is full of mischief and this picture captures his personality perfectly.
This is the first time Ive used kraft coloured card stock (I'm behind the times I know. lol) I really like the neutral tones it makes it very versatile. I think Ill be off to my LSS to stock up on more soon.
DH and my eldest DS are out this morning looking at aquarium fish and my youngest DS is fast asleep having his morning nap so I'm hoping to get some scrapping done or some painting.
I'm going to attempt a mixed media canvas.
Wish me Luck! TFL.

KISS

This Lo was for Jodies DT member July sketch challenge on The Boxx.
This one really was a challenge for me. Its quite different from my usual style. But I had fun trying something different.
I am constantly amazed how pages seem to come together. This was not at all what I had picked for this paper. Its not one of those papers I fell in love with and 'just had to have'.
This paper was on sale very cheap and I was looking for something with a splash of purple in it to go with another purple page (I purchased on the Internet) that I intended to use for a macro picture I took of a bee on lavender. When I put the two pps together I just knew they didn't work, I thought this would end up being one of those papers I just couldn't find a use for.
It was a total fluke that I already had flowers in all the same colours as this pp because I don't use many flowers so I don't own a lot.
It just sort of came together not easily but it just evolved as have a lot of my pages. They never end out any thing like what Ive pictured in my head. Its almost as if they have a mind of their own. But that's half the fun. You never really know what your going to end up with. You just hope it works.
The photo is DH and myself on our wedding day. This Lovely picture was taken by Nick from

Nature Boy

This Lo was completed in July but this is the first chance Ive had to upload it.
Theres a little hidden journal tag with details about when and where this photo was taken.
This was our last family outing in Adelaide before we moved back to QLD.
The photo was taken at the Botanic Gardens. I love this pic of Tys because he looks so deep in thought. Id just love to know what goes through his little head some times.
This was another great excuse to use up some of those pps Id had hanging around for a while.
